Moscow hit by one of the largest drone strikes since war began

Ukraine has launched one of its largest drone attacks against Russia since the start of the war, leaving at least six people dead and sparking a massive blaze at a major warehouse near Moscow.
Russia’s defence ministry claims its forces shot down at least eight hundred and twenty-two drones overnight. The assault caused a ferocious fire at a facility belonging to the online retail giant Wildberries, located in the Koledino Industrial Park. Footage from the scene shows flames engulfing the structure as thick plumes of smoke rise into the air.
Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyov described the raid as one of the most massive drone attacks in recent memory. Ukraine maintains these strikes are a direct response to Moscow’s ongoing bombardment of Ukrainian towns and infrastructure.
The violence shows no sign of slowing on either side. In Ukraine, a barrage of Russian missiles and drones struck the Arcelor Mittal steel plant in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack killed two people and forced the plant to partially halt operations. Further strikes across the country have claimed additional lives in the Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Donetsk regions, while a popular outdoor book market in Kyiv was also hit.
President Zelensky stated that wherever Russia can reach with its ballistic missiles, it strikes civilian infrastructure. He added that over the past week alone, Ukrainian cities have been pummelled by more than one thousand, five hundred attack drones, nearly one thousand, five hundred and sixty guided aerial bombs, and sixty-two missiles. He has renewed his urgent appeal to allies for more air defence as the conflict continues to spill over into neighbouring countries, including Latvia.
