Man charged over deepfake poster campaign across Queensland | 7NEWS

A 52-year-old man from Cleveland has been charged with 43 offences after allegedly using artificial intelligence to create fake nude images of women and distributing them on posters across south-east Queensland. Police say the deepfake posters named victims, revealed their workplaces and social media profiles, and falsely labelled them as sex workers in what investigators describe as a calculated campaign of humiliation. Eight victims have been identified so far, with police believing there may be more, while the Queensland Government’s announced legislation specifically targeting deepfake image creation and distribution has yet to be enacted.
