‘Laughingstock’ Starmer’s Trump-Iran phone call overshadowed by brutal SNL UK roasting
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has held a phone call with US President Donald Trump to discuss the ongoing conflict and war in Iran.
The phone call went for 20 minutes, and was described as a “constructive” conversation on the two countries working together.
Starmer, who was recently mocked by the UK’s version of Saturday Night Live, spoke to Trump despite the president roasting him with a repost of the SNL skit.
President Trump had recently called NATO countries for their refusal to help in the Iran war, labelling them as “Cowards”.
In the phone call between Trump and Starmer, the two expressed the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz and resuming global shipping.
“The leaders discussed the current situation in the Middle East, and in particular, the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to resume global shipping. They agreed that reopening the Strait of Hormuz was essential to ensure stability in the global energy market. They agreed to speak again soon”.
