The Albanese government is consulting on possible updates to copyright laws to protect Australian creators from the rise of artificial intelligence.

The government has reiterated that the changes will not include a text and data mining exception.

It is vowing to stand behind the country’s creative industries, including news media and publishing, amid challenges emerging from the use of AI.
