Donald Trump delays imposing 50 per cent tariffs on Canada amid new deal
US President Donald Trump is delaying imposing new tariffs on a range of Canadian goods for three days as the two nations cement a new trade deal.
A 50 per cent tariff was going to be implemented several hours after the delay was announced, which would have impacted billions of dollars’ worth of Canadian imports.
President Trump says the deal is good for both nations.
