Koori Knockout: WAR claim breakthrough men’s title
Wiradjuri Aboriginal Rivers has claimed its first Koori Knockout men’s title after defeating the Bourke Warriors 26-6.
Five-eighth Gerome Burns, who was forced to give up his NRL dream last year due to a serious knee injury, starred for the premiership team with a hat-trick.
But the Koori Knockout wasn’t the only First Nations sporting event to be held over the weekend.
Communities from across South Australia came together for the annual Aboriginal Football and Netball Sports Carnival.
