Jürgen Klopp on Man City scandal

Jürgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager who is now coaching the German national football team, has told a press conference he hadn’t given the Manchester City saga much thought.

City has been found guilty of more than 100 charges of systematically breaking the Premier League’s financial fair play rules for nearly a decade.

The Premier League said on Tuesday the Abu Dhabi-backed club had used “sham” commercial contracts as part of schemes to inflate revenue and understate costs by more than £900 million ($1.2 billion).

However questions remain over what sanctions City may be hit with and if an appeal by the club could delay their implementation.

Klopp said he was in no way preparing himself for the final outcome of the case, which could take a long time, and was “not particularly interested in it either”.
