Iran regime can’t be toppled without US ground troop commitment
The Australian columnist Tom Switzer believes it to be impossible for the US to topple the Iranian regime without committing troops to the ground.
“The sad reality is that this regime is more likely to be hardline because they feel that their back is against the wall. They think from the regime’s perspective that they’re facing an existential threat from the United States,” Mr Switzer told News24 host Chris Kenny.
“If regime change is going to take place, the Americans need to countenance the idea of committing ground troops.
“They will eat grass if they have to, to wait out the Americans.”
