Iran hits out at America over ‘hypocritical empty talk’ amid ceasefire extension
The White House has denied reports the US President has given until just this weekend for Iran to come up with a peace proposal, insisting there is no timeframe.
This comes as Iran has fired upon three ships and seized two of them in the Strait of Hormuz in a tit-for-tat over America’s seizure of one of its cargo ships amid the blockade.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also hit out at the United States on social media following the ceasefire extension.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always welcomed and continues to welcome dialogue and agreement,” he said.
“Bad faith, siege, and threats are the main obstacles to genuine negotiation. The world is witnessing your hypocritical empty talk and the contradiction between your claims and your actions.”
