Iran fires on three ships and seizes two of them in the Strait of Hormuz

Iran claims it has fired upon three ships and seized two of them in the Strait of Hormuz.

Ship tracking data reveals two of the ships fired on and seized were owned by shipping giant MSC.

A Panama-flagged cargo ship Euphoria was also targeted by the IRGC, and state media says it is now stranded on the coast of Iran.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has called out US President Donald Trump, posting on X: “A complete ceasefire only makes sense if it is not violated by the maritime blockade and the hostage-taking of the world’s economy.

“And if the Zionist warmongering across all fronts is halted, reopening the Strait of Hormuz is impossible with such a flagrant breach of the ceasefire.

“They did not achieve their goals through military aggression, nor will they through bullying. The only way forward is to recognise the rights of the Iranian nation.”
