Imam of Melbourne mosque linked to flydubai terror suspect breaks silence | ABC NEWS
An imam in Melbourne has strongly rejected allegations by authorities in the UAE that the mosque he leads was previously linked to the suspect in the attempted hijacking of a flydubai flight.
Hammam Al-Hammami is accused of trying to take control of a flydubai plane to crash it into Israel’s main airport.
In a statement, the imam says there’s no record of Mr Al-Hammami ever attending the mosque, and the claims risk unfairly damaging the reputation of a centre that’s served its community for decades.
