Heavy rain and thunderstorms have been forecast for large parts of NSW, Victoria and ACT on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
Melbourne saw 50mm over a 24-hour period between Thursday and Friday morning, causing localised flooding and power outages.
David Crock from the Bureau of Meteorology says the rain will clear up by Sunday in Sydney for the NRL Grand Final.
