US President Donald Trump has ripped into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer amid the US government shutdown.
Trump labelled Schumer as “mentally gone” and claimed that he has been beaten up by “young radical lunatics”.
Chuck Schumer, along with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, reached out to the president to set up a private meeting.
Donald Trump says he will meet with the duo on the condition that they reopen the government.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt chimed in, warning of “damning consequences” if Democrats continue to keep the government closed.
