Exiled Hamas chief declares war in Gaza has ‘ended permanently’ following Trump’s ceasefire deal
Hamas chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya has announced the war in Gaza is over following US President Donald Trump’s historic ceasefire deal.
In a long-awaited address, Al-Hayya revealed he received assurances from the US and other nations that a ceasefire deal was brokered.
Al-Hayya’s remarks shortly follow an agreement reached between Israel and Hamas to stop the fighting and the transfer of all Israeli hostages.
The ceasefire deal will also see the body of the deceased hostages returned to Israel, with Palestinian prisoners going the other way.
“We have received guarantees from the mediators and the US administration, assuring us that the war has ended permanently,” Al-Hayya said.
