A Queensland catcher’s callout to remove a python came a little too late for the client’s cat, which the snake was already digesting when it was dragged out from its hiding place.
Video posted by Stuart McKenzie of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers shows his colleague Giffo at the scene. “Look at the size of this snake, far out!” Giffo says, as he drags it out. “A lot bigger with the cat inside,” he drily adds. “A tragedy to lose a pet like that.”
Giffo said the python would not have to eat for a month after its feline food item, but said he’d take it back to the bush to make sure the next thing on the menu was not someone’s beloved pet.
“Just another reminder to please keep an eye on your pets and keep them in snake-proof areas/enclosures where possible,” McKenzie wrote on social media.
