Elderly woman harassed by debt collector in ‘Robodebt 2.0’ | ABC NEWS
The former chair of ACCC has likened Suncorp’s debt collector as “Robodebt 2.0” after ARMA Group was found harassing and intimidating an 81-year-old woman into paying an insurance claim for which she was not responsible.
Tthe case is just the tip of the iceberg with the consumer watchdog taking ARMA Group and Force Legal, both owned by Credit Clear Limited, to court. The ACCC says they sent 320,000 debt enforcement notices to individuals that were allegedly misleading.
