Country music and legend Dolly Parton has died aged 80.

The tragic news of the death of the “Queen of Country” was announced on Tuesday afternoon, US time.
During her six-decade career Parton released 50 albums, and won 190 awards. Those gongs included 11 Grammy Awards, three Emmys as well as nominations for two Oscars and five Golden Globes.
Her enormous hits included 9-5, Jolene, Baby I’m Burnin and I Will Always Love You, the latter of which Whitney Houston covered to huge success.
Parton’s career spanned acting as well as music with starring roles in movies including 9-5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Steel Magnolias.
Parton had taken a step back from the public eye over the past year though, telling fans that she was dealing with undisclosed health issues.
