Country music icon Dolly Parton dies aged 80
Dolly Parton – singer-songwriter, philanthropist, entrepreneur and entertainer – has died aged 80.
Her death was announced by her nephew on social media, with her team confirming that she had died after a brief battle with cancer.
In a career lasting nearly six decades, Parton sold more than 100 million records, starred in Hollywood movies, built a business empire and became one of country music’s most enduring stars.
