DFAT confirms 41 Australians missing in Nepal disaster


The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says 41 Australians are now believed to be missing in Nepal after a deadly flash flood in the Himalayan region.

That figure takes into account 26-year-old Cara Severino, who has managed to make contact with her parents.

DFAT also confirms four rapid response teams will arrive in Kathmandu on Saturday.

On Friday evening, Foreign Minister Penny Wong spoke with Nepal’s Foreign Minister, offering additional assistance.
