At least 579 people have been killed in Nepal and seven in Tibet after deadly flash floods struck villages in the border region between Nepal and Tibet on Wednesday.
Nearly 2,500 people are missing in Nepal and Tibet, including at least 41 Australians.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is “urgently” seeking an update on the welfare of missing Australians.
Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong says they were part of separate pilgrimages and tour groups.
