‘Clearly the government has been involved’: Growing claims of Victorian union corruption
Deputy Liberal Leader Jane Hume says corruption is so “deep-rooted ” in the Victorian construction industry.
“Every single day we have a new allegation of corruption and Labor simply shrugs its shoulders,” Ms Hume told Sky News host Jaimee Rogers.
“Today’s revelations are quite extraordinary.
“This is a senior bureaucrat in a Victorian health building authority that says that he was pressured by the government to remove a subcontractor from a site because that subcontractor was in some sort of dispute with the CFMEU.
“So the government was actually actively involved in that decision-making.
“Clearly the government has been involved in this process, in this corruption that is so deep-seated, so deep-rooted in construction in Victoria.
