Four pro-Palestinian activists have been convicted of criminal damage over a raid on an Israeli defence company’s factory in Bristol in August 2024. The attack targeted an Elbit Systems UK facility and caused an estimated one million pounds in damage. Prosecutors said the six defendants were members of Palestine Action, a group later banned under UK terrorism law. Surveillance footage showed a van ramming the facility’s gate before activists entered carrying sledgehammers and crowbars. Of the six defendants, four were found guilty of criminal damage at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday. Two defendants, Zoe Rogers and Jordan Devlin, were acquitted. Samuel Corner, 23, was also convicted of grievous bodily harm after prosecutors said he struck a police officer with a sledgehammer. The remaining guilty verdicts were handed down against Charlotte Head, 30, Leona Kamio, 30, and Fatema Zainab Rajwani, 21. The trial follows an earlier hearing in which all six were acquitted of aggravated burglary and the jury failed to reach a verdict on criminal damage charges. Prosecutors subsequently dropped violent disorder charges against all six. Palestine Action was proscribed under terrorism legislation following the raid, though London’s High Court later ruled that decision unlawful. The group remains banned while the government’s appeal, heard last week, is pending.
