A bungling arsonist set his own feet alight while torching a newly opened restaurant in Malaysia.
CCTV footage shows two masked men wearing motorcycle helmets walking towards the front of the closed restaurant in Bandar Dato Onn, Johor Bahru.
The pair can be seen dousing the outdoor dining area with fuel and red paint before setting it alight on June 25 at around 3.30am local time.
The flames instantly flared up, causing one of the suspects, wearing a teal-coloured helmet, to accidentally catch his own shoes on fire.
The frantic man then ran away with the soles of his shoes still burning, inadvertently spreading the flames as he fled.
The restaurant owner immediately reported the fire, causing personnel from the Tebrau and Kempas fire stations to respond to the scene.
