Authorities warn of severe bushfire season ahead | 7NEWS
Bushfire season is approaching with authorities warning it could be one of the worst on record following Australia’s warmest winter and with a potential super El Niño developing. Emergency Services Minister Jihad Dib and RFS Commissioner Trent Curtin are urging households to prepare now by clearing gutters, trimming overhanging trees, maintaining short lawns, ensuring hoses can reach all parts of homes, and creating evacuation plans. High fire danger is forecast for Sydney, the Hunter and the Illawarra this weekend with temperatures reaching into the 30s, after 2,000 bushfires have already occurred since July.
