Australia’s oldest dinosaur fossil confirmed in Brisbane | 7NEWS
A dinosaur footprint fossil discovered in Brisbane in 1958 by schoolboy Bruce Runnegar has been confirmed as Australia’s oldest dinosaur evidence, dating back 230 million years. The fossil, which includes a tail track and footprints, belonged to a two-legged sauropodomorph dinosaur weighing approximately 140 kilograms. The fossil is now stored at the Queensland Museum for further research into prehistoric Australian fauna.
