AOC shares egg freezing journey on social media: ‘Important to normalise’
US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has shared that she will freeze her eggs and document her journey on social media, saying “it’s important as leaders to have these conversations, and share these processes, especially for working women and normalise them”.
The 36-year-old New York Democrat has not ruled out running for president in 2028 and says she’s freezing her eggs to be in “more control” of her life.
Many people have thanked Ocasio-Cortez for sharing her egg-freezing journey, with a user commenting: “Talking about it loud almost feels like a taboo is so isolating … thank you for making your journey public like this.”
