Alleged Croydon Park shooter Artemios Mintzas faces 25 charges | ABC NEWS
A 60-year-old man who allegedly fired up to 50 shots at passersby in Croydon Park has been charged with 25 offences.
Artemios Mintzas is facing 18 counts of intent to murder after the incident left a man in his 50s with critical injuries, while 16 others suffered minor injuries. The shooting spree prompted an extensive police response and a two-hour lockdown of the area around Georges River Road near the intersection of Brighton Street.
NSW Police’s acting Superintendent Stephen Parry has ruled out the involvement of drugs or alcohol, while investigators have not found a link to organised crime.
Detectives are still working to identify a motive.
