Adelaide Festival apologises to Randa Abdel-Fattah for Writers’ Week decision | ABC NEWS
The Adelaide Festival Corporation has apologised to Palestinian-Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah over its previous board’s decision to remove her as a speaker at Writers’ Week.
The newly installed festival board has invited Abdel-Fattah to speak at its next event in 2027.
In a social media post, Abdel-Fattah said she accepted the apology and would consider the board’s invitation.
Adelaide Writers’ Week 2026 was cancelled after more than 180 authors and participants withdrew from the event in opposition to Abdel-Fattah’s axing from the lineup.
