ACCC warns retailers over dodgy Black Friday deals

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has put retailers on notice ahead of the Black Friday sales, warning it will closely monitor advertisements for misleading or deceptive promotions.

With 28 November now marking one of the biggest shopping events in Australia, the ACCC has said it will be keeping a close eye on dubious ‘limited-time’ offers and inflated discount claims.
