Sussan Ley faces criticism as Opposition leader while Andrew Hastie’s popularity rises
Former speaker of the House Bronwyn Bishop discusses what the Liberal Party should do to regain governance.
This comes amid speculation that Shadow Home Affairs Minister Andrew Hastie will become the new leader of the Opposition.
“The bottom line is when you’ve suffered such a whacking defeat, what will happen is the people who have something to say will come out and say it,” Ms Bishop told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“Then you can get a narrative that you actually got something to sell.
“What we need to see … is reduction government spending, lessening electricity prices, and giving people the right to defend their culture.”
