US Marines intercept Iranian-flagged oil tanker in Gulf of Oman
US Marines have intercepted an Iranian-flagged commercial oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
US Central Command says the vessel is suspected of attempting to breach restrictions while heading toward an Iranian port.
US forces searched the tanker before allowing it to continue, instructing the crew to change course.
US officials say military forces have now directed 91 commercial vessels.
