Keir Starmer refuses to quit despite mounting internal pressure
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing renewed internal pressure over his leadership after heavy election losses, despite insisting he will not step down.
UK Labour MP Catherine West has threatened to trigger a leadership contest if no one from the cabinet launches a challenge by Monday.
Ms West warned, “I’m putting people on notice.”
“If I don’t hear by Monday morning of some leadership hopefuls, I will be asking everybody in the Parliamentary Labour Party to put a name against my name.
“We need to get this ball rolling.”
