‘Canny game’: Iran denying negotiations but ‘all the signs’ point to engaging in talks

Deakin University Global Islamic Politics Chair Professor Greg Barton says the Iranians are playing a “very canny game” with ceasefire negotiations.

Mr Barton said Iran is denying that any negotiations are “going ahead”.

“But all the signs point to the fact that they want to engage in talks and want to get an outcome, but it needs to be on their terms.”
