Would international students still pick Australia following major migration changes?
We took to the streets to ask whether international students would still choose Australia as their preferred country after Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke announced a suite of migration rule changes at his National Press Club address in Canberra.
International students and those on graduate visas will no longer be able to bring their family members to Australia, though there are some exceptions, including for PhD students.
The only way foreign students would be able to extend their visas is by transferring to higher-level courses, like a bachelor’s to a master’s.
