Northern Territory Indigenous traditional owners fed up with collapsed mining companies not being forced to put enough money aside to clean up their operations are threatening to start mandating that as a condition of using their land.
The powerful Northern Land Council says revelations the Finocchiaro Government isn’t holding a big enough rehabilitation security bond for an iron ore mine which went bust earlier this year has been the final straw. Jane Bardon filed this report for ABC News Northern Territory.
