Wong defends Australia’s Middle East policies
Foreign Minister Penny Wong addressed questions about Australia’s policies in the Middle East during an interview with SBS World News chief political correspondent, Anna Henderson.
Wong defended the decision to expel the Iranian ambassador from Australia as well as the continued supply of Australian-made parts for F-35 jets to Israel.
Acting Prime Minister Richard Marles said last month any action regarding Australia’s exports of component parts to Israel were unlikely to have an impact on the war in Gaza, after reiterating that Australia did not supply weapons to Israel.
