US President Donald Trump has appealed to the reclusive North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un by posting pictures from their 2019 meeting to his social media account.
The posts come as Trump ordered Pentagon officials to cut short joint exercises with the South Korean military.
Trump announced the decision on social media, saying the exercises were costly and “send a signal that is totally inappropriate and hostile” to North Korea.
The move has cast doubt on the United States’ commitment to its allies, particularly in Asia and the Pacific.
