White House defends Argentina Falklands stunt as FIFA faces pressure
A White House official has commented on the Argentina celebrations following the FIFA World Cup semifinal win over England.
In the celebration, some Argentina players held up a political banner saying the Falklands belong to Argentina, leaving many to question if FIFA would punish them for the action.
Chief of the White House FIFA World Cup 2026 Task Force, Andrew Giuliani, has backed the Argentina players to assert their right to sovereignty over the Falklands in a World Cup stadium.
