‘What on earth is happening’: News24 host blasts the ABC’s ‘long list of transgressions’

News24 host Chris Kenny points to a string of controversial ABC reports and editorial failures.

“There has been a long list of transgressions,” Mr Kenny said.

“Back in 2018, the story of the century, they called it, a three-part Four Corners series that effectively said Vladimir Putin installed Donald Trump into the White House, a ridiculous and debunked conspiracy theory.

“Then, of course, in 2020 there was the famous fake gunshots reported … the ABC doctored the footage, changed the footage around and added extra gunshots.

“Then of course in 2021, again Donald Trump was the focus … they cut up the Donald Trump speech on that January day in Washington … just like the BBC cut it up to make it look like Donald Trump was encouraging violence.

“There are so many examples here.

“We need a broader enquiry into what on earth is happening at the national broadcaster.”
