The NSW Government is considering dozens of new metro stations across Western Sydney, including locations in Schofields, Marsden Park, Bidwell, Emerton, Bradfield South, Maryland, Pondicherry, Oran Park and potentially Macarthur. The proposed extensions would connect the Western Sydney Airport Metro Line to Tallawong and expand the airport line in the south-west. The Opposition is urging the government to proceed with the projects, while the Premier remains cautious about the cost, with existing metro lines already exceeding $70 billion in taxpayer expenditure.
