Western Sydney International Airport is transforming the region’s economy with curfew-free cargo operations already benefiting local businesses like Vitex Pharmaceuticals and attracting $20 billion in logistics infrastructure. The airport expects more than 8 million passengers by 2030, prompting a surge in accommodation development with 2,000 new hotel rooms under construction and an estimated 11,000 more needed over the next 20 years. Penrith is positioning itself as the gateway to the Blue Mountains, with Panthers’ Pullman Hotel being the closest five-star accommodation to the airport and a new stadium opening to boost the events economy.
