Vivid lights up Sydney Harbour despite rainy opening night

Sydney may not have put on the weather for the opening night of Vivid, but its lights cut through the gloom.

Iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House, Customs House and the Museum of Contemporary Art, lit up the night with artistic installations.

In 2026, drone shows will return with 20 planned across the festival.

Vivid runs until June 13, and 80 per cent of attractions are free to attend.
