Victoria faces its worst fire day since the Black Summer bushfires, with multiple homes destroyed in Longwood East and surrounding areas. The fire has rapidly expanded from 3,000 hectares to almost 85,000 hectares within 24 hours, with changing wind conditions threatening further destruction. Resident Ali McIvor describes fleeing with only minutes to spare, returning to find her home completely destroyed, while authorities report three people remain unaccounted for and one CFA firefighter has been seriously injured.
