Victorian agronomist wins international environmental peace prize | ABC NEWS
A Victorian agronomist has won this year’s Luxembourg Peace Prize for his work on environmental peace.
Tony Rinaudo, a soil and plant scientist, developed Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) in West Africa in the 1980s, allowing trees to grow in barren soil.
His methods have transformed farming in Niger, and he now collaborates with World Vision.
