US renews strikes on Iran as the conflict in the Middle East widens
The United States has carried out its first air strikes against Iran in days, after Donald Trump earlier warned that Washington would retaliate for Iranian missile strikes on a US airbase in Jordan.
The tit-for-tat strikes have ended a brief pause in the war.
An explosion has also rocked an Egyptian gas port in the Mediterranean Sea, intensifying fears that the Middle East conflict is spreading.
Egypt has confirmed that the blast was the result of a drone attack, but no-one has so far claimed responsibility.
