Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed as fresh strikes are exchanged across the Gulf, but the United States military has disputed the claim, insisting the critical waterway remains open.
US President Donald Trump appeared on breakfast television saying the strait is “very much open” and confirmed he had ordered another round of strikes overnight, with 140 Iranian military targets hit.
