On October 7 , 2023 Danny Majnzer was at his home in Kibbutz Be’eri a few kilometers from the eastern border of Gaza. He was speaking on the phone to his sister, Galit Carbone, who lived a few houses away when Hamas militants entered the Kibbutz. Galit was murdered – the only Australian to be killed in the attack – while Danny survived.
