Trump uses tariffs to prevent Russia’s customers fuelling ‘Putin’s war machine’
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham discusses the importance of US President Trump’s tariff bill and how it is putting pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I don’t think we could’ve secured the border without the threat of tariffs,” Mr Graham said.
“I don’t think we would have a European trade deal without the threat of tariffs.
“If you want to end this conflict, then put pressure on Putin’s customers.
“If you’re buying cheap Russian oil, keeping Putin’s war machine going, we’re trying to get the president the ability to make that a hard choice by tariffs.”
