Trump reveals US military will be out of Iraq after meeting with Iraqi PM at White House
US President Donald Trump hails “tremendous chemistry” with new Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and says the US military will be out of Iraq by the end of September, touting closer US-Iraq ties and the expansion of oil production.
“We don’t think we need the military there anymore; it’s a big operation, and what we do have is that the oil companies are all going in now and doing partnerships with Iraq,” Mr Trump said.
“Iran was a big burden on Iraq … but they’re not going to have that problem anymore.”
