Trump pushes for stricter terms in Iran deal following meeting with advisers
US President Donald Trump has reportedly sought changes to a proposed deal with Iran following a meeting with his advisers on Friday.
The specific amendments he requested have not been disclosed. However, CNN reports that Mr Trump has advocated for a stricter approach to Iran’s nuclear commitments and its pledge to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The US President is also reportedly concerned about Iran’s requests for financial relief. He has previously criticised former president Barack Obama over financial arrangements made as part of earlier dealings with Iran.
